Coaching Requirements
All Ridge Wrestling Club Coaches must satisfy our four part training requirement. This training includes:
- The Rutgers S.A.F.T.E.Y Clinic - All coaches must complete the Rutgers SAFETY training and possess a Rutgers SAFETY Card. This is an in person or online training that takes several hours, but is only required to be completed once.
- The CDC Heads Up Concussion Training - All coaches must take the Concussion awareness training provided by the CDC.
- USA Wrestling Safe Sport Certification - All coaches must take the Safe Sport certification provided by USA Wrestling and certificates must be renewed annually. The U.S. Center for SafeSport is an independent nonprofit organization responsible for responding to and preventing emotional, physical, and sexual misconduct and abuse in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement. The Center also serves as an educational resource for sports organizations at all levels, from recreational sports organizations to professional leagues.
- USA Wrestling Background Check - All coaches must complete the online background check provided by USA Wrestling. Background Checks need to be renewed every two years.
