Athlete Expectations
- Attendance & Punctuality
- Arrive 10 minutes early, dressed and ready.
- Notify coaches in advance if you must miss practice.
- Effort & Focus
- Hustle in every drill, listen actively, and strive to improve.
- No complaining, quitting, or making excuses.
- Sportsmanship
- Shake hands before and after every match — win or lose.
- Never taunt, brag, or show poor body language.
- Respect
- Follow all directions from coaches.
- Treat facilities, gear, and uniforms with care.
- Conduct Off the Mat
- Represent the team well at school, in public, and online.
- Bullying, fighting, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Parent Expectations
- Support your wrestler with encouragement, not coaching from the sideline. Support to program through volunteering.
- Respect all athletes, coaches, referees, and opposing teams.
- Communicate concerns respectfully and through the proper chain.
Parent Volunteer Roles
To build a stronger community and provide the best experience for our wrestlers, we encourage parents to volunteer in the following roles:
- Team Parent Coordinator - Helps communicate team news, coordinate rides, organize events, and support coach logistics.
- Score Table/Timekeeper - Assist with scoring and managing match time at dual meets or tournaments.
- Tournament Support - Help set up, run registration, manage hospitality for coaches/officials, or assist with cleanup.
- Fundraising & Sponsorships - Lead or support fundraising efforts and seek local sponsorships for gear, travel, or program needs.
- Uniform/Gear Coordinator - Distribute singlets, team apparel, and ensure proper return and storage after the season.
- Hospitality & Team Spirit - Organize snacks, post-match meals, team dinners, or pep events.
- Photography & Social Media - Take and share photos responsibly, or manage the team’s approved social channels.
- Mat Crew/Setup - Assist with setting up and breaking down mats for practice or events.
Coach Commitments
- Model the values we teach: consistency, hard work, toughness, preparedness and respect.
- Build a team where wrestlers support one another and lift each other up through positive approach and pushing each other further.
- Provide constructive feedback and safe, structured practices.
- Hold all athletes to the same standards.
- Promote both competitive success and personal growth.
Disciplinary Actions & Grounds for Removal
To protect the team culture and ensure safety, disciplinary actions may include:
- Verbal Warning
- Parent/Coach Conference
- Temporary Suspension from Practice or Meets
- Permanent Dismissal from the Program
Grounds for Removal:
- Fighting or physical aggression off the mat
- Repeated disrespect to coaches, teammates, or opponents.
- Vandalism, theft, or destruction of property
- Drug, alcohol, or weapon possession
- Bullying, threats, or unsafe behavior
